Ali Zafar gets nominated

Ali Zafar becomes the first Pakistani ever to be nominated for three Bollywood awards for recent film Tere Bin Laden.

LAHORE: Ali Zafar, who won the hearts of millions with his debut film Tere Bin Laden, has been nominated in three prestigious Bollywood award shows. This has happened for the first time. No Pakistani actor has been nominated for any Bollywood awards before.

Zafar was nominated as  best debut (male) in Zee Cine Awards (January 14), most promising newcomer (male) in Filmfare Awards 2011 (January 29) and Star Screen Awards 2011.

Though Zafar did not get any award in Singapore at the Zee Cine awards, he feels lucky for the love and recognition he received for his debut film. On a social networking website, he wrote, “Had the best time ever at the awards. Not just because of all the respect from the fraternity but the company of the most beautiful woman on earth… my wife!”

Shez | 13 years ago | Reply So much for fact checking by ET editors. He is not the first Pakistani to receive a nomination in Bollywood. Rahat has been nominated each year since 2007 and he won his first award in 2008 and the second one in 2010.
