Cat owners, gather around. How much are you willing to spend on a grooming session for your beloved pet? If you are a legendary former cricketer and your name is Wasim Akram, the answer is a staggering 1,000 Australian dollars.

Speaking in the commentary box, Akram had his fellow commentator Mark Howard in stitches as he flashed the invoice he received for his cat Leo's 'haircut'. "They have to sedate the cat, they have to keep the cat, they have to feed the cat – I could have bought 200 in Pakistan for that amount!"

In the hilarious video clip posted on Akram's Instagram handle, viewers can see that upon hearing the news, Howard was thoroughly distracted from the proceedings on the pitch. "I think you got ripped off!" he observed. Giving an off-hand report of a single taken by the batter, Howard then decided to delve into Akram's cat invoice in greater detail.

"He's shown me the invoice, this can't be right!" said Howard, all thoughts of cricket activity on the pitch momentarily on hold. "You're actually not going to believe this. I thought you were exaggerating! The haircut is only 40 dollars!"

That's right: whilst Leo's actual haircut came up to only 40 dollars, the rest of the bill was divided into charges related to a medical check, administrating gaseous anaesthesia, recovery time, and a feline cardio test.

"I'm not even sure what that is!" said a stunned Howard as he finished reading off the bill. "A fifteen-minute haircut!" Studying a picture of Leo post-haircut, Howard added, "It's nice, but bloody hell!"

Akram put up his hands and admitted that the haircut was his wife's idea. "I did get a shock when my wife called me and told me the bill – I have two cats in Karachi, and it costs me 10 bucks to get them a haircut!"

Which just goes to show that when it comes to a cat, there is no bill too steep. Even if it is for a fifteen-minute haircut.
