LOS ANGELES: Fans of Jimmy Kimmel and his popular talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, can rejoice: The anchor will be hosting the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in September this year. Kimmel took to Twitter on Monday and announced the news. “I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday, September 18,” he tweeted. “Until then, have a great summer.” The awards will be held on September 18 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles while the nominations will be revealed to the public on July 14.

The ABC network announced the news on Monday morning as well, with Kimmel stating, “I have a feeling I am going to be great.” This will be the second time the 48-year-old will be hosting the Emmys — he has previously done so in 2012 which was the last time ABC had broadcast the ceremony. In general, the Emmys are rotated amongst the major television networks in the United States, including ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox. Last year, it was Fox’s turn to present the show with actor American Andy Samberg serving as host. CBS chose How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris as its presenter in 2013, who was followed by Seth Meyers the next year.
