Fake degree: PIPS director found guilty after probe

The speaker of the NA gave Mehr three days to present his defence and verify his degree but he failed to do so

ISLAMABAD:
The fake official has been discovered working for over two years at a senior position at the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Studies (PIPS). A PIPS official told The Express Tribune that Zafar Ali Mehr had been appointed director finance and human resources at the institute in December 2013 on the basis of an executive MBA degree. After a complaint was received at the National Assembly, an inquiry was launched against the director, whose degree was found to be fraudulent. The speaker of the NA gave Mehr three days to present his defence and verify whether his degree was genuine, however the official failed to do so.
