Orakzai: MNA Gulab retains majority at two stations

The re-polling was arranged for internally displaced persons residing at Togh Sarai Camp in Orakzai Agency

Sitting MNA Ghazi Gulab Jamal Orakzai saw a majority win during re-polling on two polling stations in Hangu on Sunday.



According to unofficial results, Ghazi Gulab secured 546 votes whereas two other candidates Tahir Iqbal and Jawad Hussain received three and two votes respectively.


Re-polling on two stations was held following a court order on an election petition filed by Jawad Hussain, who contested polls on a Pakistan Peoples Party ticket. The re-polling was arranged for internally displaced persons residing at Togh Sarai Camp in Orakzai Agency. The stations were established at Government High School, Hangu. Political Agent Zubair Khan and Assistant Political Agent Iqbal Khan Wazir supervised the election process.


Ghazi Gulab was declared winner in 2013 general elections from NA-39, Orakzai Agency. Ghazi Gulab secured 7,722 votes, while Jawad Hussain of PPP managed to obtain 7,546 votes.
