LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments on Saturday from the Sherakot SHO on a petition filed by a man seeking registration of a case against a woman trading in false gold. Petitioner Haji Amjad Ali, a jeweller, submitted that one Irum Fayyaz had sold her a gold bangle for Rs67,000 saying that she needed money for her mother’s treatment. He said he had later found that the bangle was not made from pure gold. “This caused me a loss of Rs40,000,” he said. A few days later, Ali said, the woman had defrauded another jeweller in a similar manner. He said he had requested the SHO to take action against her but he had done nothing.
