Case filed: Prosecutors not paid since 6 months
The same bench heared a writ petition filed against barriers erected outside Dil Jan FC Plaza
PESHAWAR:
A division bench of the Peshawar High Court ordered the additional chief secretary of Fata Secretariat to decide on regularisation of two prosecutors of FATA Tribunal and pay their salaries withheld since six months. The bench, comprising justices Irshad Qaiser and Qalandar Ali, was told that petitioners Shiraz and Raees Khan were appointed as prosecutors in 2013 at the tribunal. The petitioners’ counsel, Advocate Aminur Rahman, said the tribunal’s chairman also recommended their regularisation that was ignored by the additional chief secretary of the secretariat. “Besides, they were not paid their salaries for six months which is tantamount to forced labour,” he argued. After hearing the arguments, the bench sent the writ petition to the additional chief secretary and directed him to decide the matter within a month as per law. The same bench heared a writ petition filed against barriers erected outside Dil Jan FC Plaza.
