Search operations: 7 militants killed in Turbat, Kohlu

Separately, the FC and law enforcement agencies launched a joint operation in Kohlu

QUETTA:

Paramilitary troops on Wednesday killed seven militants, including a commander of the banned Baloch Republican Army (BRA), during separate encounters in Turbat and Kohlu districts of restive Balochistan.

The first firefight took place in the Dasht area of Turbat, Frontier Corps (FC) spokesman Khan Wassey told The Express Tribune.

“FC troops and law enforcement personnel were carrying out a search operation near Mirani dam in Dasht, when they came under fire,” he said. “Following an exchange of fire, three members of the BRA, including commander Mama Bugti, were killed,” he added.

According to the FC spokesman, the three suspected militants were involved in the killing of labourers working on the Shadi Kor dam in Turbat.

Separately, the FC and law enforcement agencies launched a joint operation in Kohlu and killed four members of proscribed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
