Opposition walk out of Senate

ISLAMABAD:

All Opposition parties walked out of the Senate session on Monday, in a sign of protest against the recent hike in petroleum prices.



Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Qaira presented the government's two year performance report in the house while Senator Waseem Sajjad presented national democracy commission bill 2010 in the house.


The bill was later sent to the relevant standing committee. Waseem Sajjad said that the national democracy commission bill will strengthen democracy in the country.


Deputy chairman Senate Jan Mohammad Jamali asked the Senate's standing committee on interior to probe the acid throwing incidents  in Balochistan and also incidents of abduction in the province.
