Hajj corruption case: Court summons ex-MNA as witness

District court also issues arrest warrants for another witness

ISLAMABAD:
The local court has summoned a former member of parliament as a witness in Hajj corruption case.

Bilal Yasin, a former member of the National Assembly is considered an important witness in the case.

Special Judge Malik Nazir of the District and Sessions Court also issued warrants for Muhammad Farooq, another witness in the case.

The public prosecutor Chaudhry Muhammad Azhar did not appear before the court citing security risks.


Yasin travelled to Saudi Arabia while he was still a member of the parliment, to investigate the matter.

Farooq is currently in Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the court ordered the prosecution to ensure the presence of former MNA, who is an important witness to the case at the next hearing and adjourned the hearing.
