Enhancing greenery : CDA to plant 0.3 million saplings
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced to plant over 0.3 million saplings of different species during upcoming spring tree plantation drive in the capital.
“The CDA will plant 225,000 plants in rural areas and 75,000 in urban areas including residential sectors, median strips of avenues, greenbelts and parks,” said CDA spokesperson Ramzan Sajid.
He said drive would be carried out in collaboration with different government and non-government organisations, civil society, students and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
The spokesperson said CDA organizes spring and monsoon tree plantation drives every year to highlight the importance of green environment and to educate people about the importance of trees and greenery.
Spring tree plantation drive will last two months. The CDA would also distribute saplings free of cost among the residents.
