MULTAN:

Pakistan Peoples Party has made no deal with the National Accountability Bureau, former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani said on Sunday.

He was speaking to media at his house after Chaudhry Sher Ali of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz arrived in Multan to offer his condolences on the death of Gillani’s nephew Asad Gillani. Sher Ali said he was visiting Multan after 15 years. He said he had spent much time with Gillani in prison. Sher Ali said he had been dealing with NAB cases for 20 years. “They arrested me even before they enacted the law.” He said NAB officials used to visit the jail often to bargain with prisoners. “95 per cent of politicians in Pakistan are clear of any blame. “He said why are only the rulers held accountable. “NAB is not a sacred cow. Its officials should not be exempt from accountability. “He said NAB had detained him for 15 years for default on a Rs380,000 payment. “No one can ask the NAB to explain their wrong-doings.”
