ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi police have booked two constables of Islamabad Police for impersonating police and army officers and grabbing land.
Police say they received a complaint about encroachment on a plot and when questioned the suspected land grabbers, one of them claimed to be a deputy superintendent of Islamabad Police while the other said he was an army brigadier.
However, Rawalpindi police found out that both were constables employed by the Islamabad Police, and were deployed at Pak Secretariat. They were identified as Sarfraz and Tariq.
A case has been registered against them and seven other persons at Civil Lines Police Station, Rawalpindi.
Banned outfit activist arrested
Islamabad Police on Sunday arrested an activist of a banned outfit.
Police said Syed Ziaul Haq, an activist of banned Hizb-e-Tehreek, was distributing anti-government pamphlets outside Farooqia Masjid on Murree Road in Bhara Kahu.
Police take six days to register case
Aabpara police took six days to register a motorcycle theft case. Gul Rahim told the police on Feb 21 that his motorcycle (JGK-430) was stolen by unknown persons from Shakarparian. Police registered a case against unknown persons on Sunday.
Man runs off with boss’s money
Kohsar police have booked a man for criminal breach of trust and making off with the money he was trusted with.
Bilal Ahmed Durrani told the police that he gave Javed Akhtar Rs627,000. The amount was to be handed over to a tractor firm as part of a business transaction. Akhtar, however, disappeared with the money.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
