Tree Plantation Drive: Govt to formulate forest policy

The officials said the government has taken a number of steps to stop deforestation in the country

ISLAMABAD:
The government is formulating a national forest policy to enhance tree plantation in the country.  According to the Radio Pakistan, the draft policy will also be presented before the Council of Common Interests for its consideration. The Ministry of Climate Change is actively engaged with the provinces, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan to finalise the forestation plan. The policy will also envisage wildlife protection.  The officials said the government has taken a number of steps to stop deforestation in the country.
