Stock exchange: PSX elects new directors
Muneer Kamal will continue as SECP’s nominee director on the PSX board
KARACHI:
In an extraordinary general meeting held last Wednesday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) elected new directors for the next three years. According to a press release issued by the PSX, Abid Ali Habib, Ahmed Chinoy, Abdul Majeed Adam and Muhammad Yasin Lakhani were elected to serve on the PSX board. As per the Stock Exchanges (Corporatisation, Demutualisation and Integration) Act, 2012, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) also nominated five new directors on the PSX board. SECP-nominated directors include Moin M Fudda, Tawfiq Asghar Hussain, Muhammad Naeem, Rahat Kaunain Hassan and Samir Ahmed. Muneer Kamal will continue as SECP’s nominee director on the PSX board while PSX Managing Director Nadeem Naqvi, by virtue of his office, will be the eleventh director.
