PESHAWAR:

Although women have started taking part in politics, effective measures are needed to strengthen their role in the sphere.

This was said by K-P acting governor, Asad Qaiser. He was addressing a multi-party delegation at Governor House in the city on Friday. During the meeting, Dr Nausheen Hamid, an MPA from Punjab, said more women and minorities need to participate in politics.

The delegation included MPAs Nusrat Saher Abbasi and Mahesh Malani from Sindh, Spozmai Achakzai from Balochistan and Sardar Vikas Mokal from Punjab.

Democracy Reporting International leader Hassan Nasir said multi-party summits provide a platform where political parties can jointly work on issues concerning citizens. He added such summits also provide an opportunity to learn about the rights of citizens in different provinces.
