Capital punishment: Murder convict sentenced to death
Rizwan Shahid a resident of Chak 100-JB, had strangled his wife Humera Naheed over a domestic dispute in 2014
FAISALABAD:
A man was sentenced to death on Wednesday for killing his wife in a Nishatabad police precinct in 2014. Additional Sessions Judge Arif Hameed Sheikh sentenced Rizwan Shahid to death under Section 302-B of the Pakistan Penal Code (murder). According to the prosecution, Rizwan Shahid a resident of Chak 100-JB, had strangled his wife Humera Naheed over a domestic dispute in 2014. Shahid was directed to pay Rs100,000 to the victim’s family. He will have to undergo additional imprisonment of six months if he is unable to pay the compensation.
