Murder case: Man, woman sentenced to life in prison
The deceased worked as a cook in a factory and was married to Bibi for three years

A district and sessions court sentenced on Wednesday a woman and her accomplice to life imprisonment after convicting both of them of killing a man three years ago. Rehmat Bibi and her friend, Zakir Hussain, were awarded a 25-year jail term as they were found guilty of strangling Aslam, the woman’s husband, to death after giving him sleeping pills. According to the prosecution, the incident was reported in October 2013 after Aslam was found dead in his bed by his landlord. The deceased worked as a cook in a factory and was married to Bibi for three years, the investigation reads, adding that the woman was not happy living with him. Bibi and Hussain administered sleeping pills to Aslam and then strangled him to death, the prosecution maintained, adding that the forensic tests and postmortem reports proved the contention.
