One piece three ways: Farah Talib Aziz

Three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. In this feature we have three fashionistas showing us how to put together an item from a designers collection, according to their own individual style and taste!

This versatile Farah Talib Aziz jacket is a must-have in any fashion-forward woman’s closet. The piece is primarily a cool shade of mint green, and its unconventional embellishments highlight sporadic lilac hues. The princess cut in a waterfall hemline adds movement and accentuates the feminine figure. Additionally, it is adorned with intricate and delicate sequins and beadwork. Though the jacket does come with a belt of a similar design, it makes a statement no matter how it is worn.

My personal style is quite versatile, as I like to experiment with different styles and trends. Though, generally, I tend to lean towards either a slightly androgynous look or a classic and feminine one. The first time I saw this jacket, I instantly started to admire the elegant embroidery and classic design. I decided to don an all white ensemble underneath, by wearing a white tank top with a slight high neck and white tailored bootleg pants. Though the jacket came with a beautiful belt, I opted not to belt it and left it open. To complete my look I wore silver Saint Laurent Tribute sandals, added a sparkly silver clutch and pearl drop earrings. I applied thick black eyeliner, a pink blush and went for a peachy lipstick. This ensemble is perfect for a day wedding event, for example a day rukhsati or lunch.

I styled this beautiful mint green Farah Talib Aziz jacket using tones of nude, peach and olive. This gave a little more variation to the outfit, without taking away from the jacket itself. I wore an embellished light-pink Topshop top, and tucked it into a pair of olive green palazzo pants from Zara. I paired this look with nude patent leather Gucci heels, and a pink Bottega Veneta satin knot clutch. I tied the belt underneath the jacket, around my waist, thus leaving the jacket open. I threw on a ring and some emerald and diamond earrings, keeping the jewellery minimal yet glamorous. The overall look I was going for was glam-chic, so I ensured that the make-up and hair complemented it perfectly. I got a simple blow dry, and applied subtle silver smoky eye makeup with a brownish nude lipstick. This look can be worn to a number of occasions, including a formal dinner, a dinner party, or any other occasion that calls for a festive ensemble.

The thing I love most about this Farah Talib Aziz jacket is its diversity. It can be dressed both in an eastern and western way, and be worn to various events. I decided to go for an evening look. First, I wore my beige culottes, then I put on this stunning jacket, but crossed it over and pinned it diagonally. Finally, I belted it with a gold chain. I put on my gold heels from Diane von Furstenberg, a pair of Outhouse earrings, and a pink evening clutch from Saint Laurent. For my make-up, I used a Forever Dior base that I swear by and Touché Éclat by Saint Laurent as a highlighter to create a radiant pearly glow. Finally, to add a pop of colour I applied Relentlessly Red lipstick by MAC. I love the loosely tonged hair that for me is more fun and modern than the traditional curly hair. The mint colour, and the way I styled it, makes it perfect for a wedding event in the evening, or even a party at night.
