Turning Back The Clock: ‘Peshawar’s past glory will be restored’

The minister asked the town officers to hold quarterly meetings with nazims and naib nazims

PESHAWAR:
Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan has said the provincial government has vowed to restore the past glory of Peshawar and once again make it the  city of flowers. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. The LG minister stated authorities should conduct a survey to build a drainage system in Town-IV, Sarband so it could be incorporated in the annual development programme. Inayatullah asked LG representatives to hold talks with the heads of electricity and gas utilities in order to resolve problems of the constituents. The minister asked the town officers to hold quarterly meetings with nazims and naib nazims in order to facilitate the public. Inayatullah said in addition to completing flyovers and other development in the city, the gigantic drainage scheme on GT Road was also nearing completion. Meanwhile, LG officers apprised the minister of the problems being faced in their respective areas, including health, education, electricity, gas, cleanliness, drainage and non-provision of funds.
