Electricity crises: PESCO CEO directs staff to make service centres operational

The Pesco chief directed the officials to personally visit complaint offices

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Chief Executive Anwarul Haq Yousafzai has said action will be taken against those involved in electricity theft. He expreseed these views during his visit to Pesco Swat Circle, a handout issued by the utility stated on Tuesday. Yousafzai added defaulters would not be spared and their power supply will be disconnected.


Haq also chaired a meeting that was attended by Pesco officials.  He was quoted as saying, “Consumers are our valued assets and provision of better facilities, including improvement in the electricity distribution system is our top priority.”


The Pesco chief directed the officials to personally visit complaint offices. Haq asked the staff to activate customer service centres and initiate a drive against illegal use of electricity. He commented, “No one should be spared who is involved in power theft, as Pesco is facing huge line losses in the province.” The CEO also instructed the officials to disconnect supply to defaulters till payment of their dues.
