Fit of rage: Man accidentally kills elderly person, injures two after murdering aunt

Eight people died and over a dozen were injured in road accidents in Sargodha, Multan and Rajanpur districts on Tuesday. A woman was shot dead in a domestic spat with her nephew. Sillanwali police said on Tuesday, Rashid Bhatti, a resident of Mungowali in Sargodha, had quarrelled with his aunt Abida Perveen at her house in Chak 152-NB. Police said their argument worsened and Bhatti shot his aunt dead and fled in his car. He hadn’t made it too far when he lost control of his speeding car and rammed it into the wall of a mud hut. Noor Muhammad, 75, who was sitting next to the wall died on the spot. Two women in the hut were injured. They were taken to a hospital for treatment. Bhatti, however, managed to flee.


In Multan, a woman was run over by a speeding tractor trolley near Vehari Chowk on Tuesday. Police said Sakina Bibi was crossing the road near the chowk when a speeding tractor trolley rammed into her. The driver of the trolley managed to flee. Police said Sakina Bibi had received severe injuries and died before she could be treated.

In Rajanpur, six people died and 25 were injured in road accidents in Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan districts on Tuesday.  Police said two passenger buses and a car collided with each other near Shahwali on the Indus Highway in Rajanpur. Three people in the car died on the spot and 15 passengers in the buses were injured. One of the passenger busses had overturned.  The injured passengers were taken to a hospital in Shahwali for treatment. They include: Abdul Aziz, Shahab Khan and Wazir, residents of Kandh Koth. The police have arrested a bus driver. Separately, a Karachi-bound passenger van collided with a tractor trolley near Shanjalpur on the National Highway in Rahim Yar Khan. Three people died and 10 were injured. Those injured were taken to Sadiqbad Hospital for treatment.
