LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought comments from the Iqbal Town SHO in connection with a petition filed by a citizen seeking the registration of a case against two men for hoodwinking him.

Petitioner Muhammad Rafique told the court that his servant Nadeem had taken him to his friends Imran and Ghulam Shabbir to purchase earrings. He said he had bought the jewellery for a sum of Rs45,000 after being informed that it had been crafted using gold. Rafique said he had later discovered that they had been made using artificial gold. He said the men had been threatening him of dire consequences ever since he confronted them.

Rafique said he had then approached the pertinent SHO to have a case registered against them in vain. He requested the court to direct the official to register an FIR against the men.
