Funding JeM: Two sentenced to 10 years in jail

RAWALPINDI:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday handed down 10-year jail term each to two men for collecting funds for Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM), a banned militant outfit.

ATC Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth convicted Rashid Iqbal and Kashif Siddiqi for raising funds for the banned outfit in Attock.

The court gave five year imprisonment for raising funds and five more years for showing association to the banned outfit.

Police arrested the two men on August 7, 2015, for running an office by the name of Al-Rahmat Trust. Police also recovered receipts carrying name of the banned outfit and a box used for collection of donations. The police also recovered material that showed association of the two men with Maulana Masood Azhar, chief of the banned organisation.
