LOS ANGELES: It seems like Demi Lovato has come forth with her opinions on women empowerment and is not afraid of doing so. The 23-year-old recently took to Twitter to express her strong views, in the wee hours of the night, urging everyone to see women as equals. “Women empowerment is taking action now, not when it’s convenient. Women empowerment is leading other women to make actual changes in our society. Women empowerment is tweeting at 2:30am, knowing the consequences of these tweets and not giving a crap,” Lovato Tweeted, reported eonline.com.

Speaking about female empowerment, Lovata also called upon her peers who declare themselves to be feminists but remain silent. “Someone tell me why anyone would ever feel brave enough to come forward if they are most likely to be ignored or called a liar? I’m also ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women’s rights,” she mentioned. The young star also called for women to speak up for other women, even if it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient, and to take action towards making changes in the society.

“It is frustrating to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed and disrespected for their bravery in taking action,” Lovato added. “Happens way too often. I’m ready for women to be taken just as seriously as men,” she added.
