55% of Pakistanis believe in gender equality

Survey by Gallup Pakistan shows 55% consider both genders equal, 44% gender biased.

ISLAMABAD:
A little over half of Pakistan considers both genders to be equal, stated the result of a survey conducted by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan.

According to the survey, 55 per cent consider both genders to be equal, while 44 per cent are gender biased, out of whom 26 per cent consider men superior and 18 per cent consider women to be superior.


A nationally representative of 2,754 men and women across Pakistan were asked the following question:
Some people believe that men are superior to women, some believe it’s the other way round, while others consider both genders to be equal. What is your opinion?

A detailed analysis of the survey shows that men are more likely to have a male bias and women a female bias.

The error margin of the survey is estimated to be approximately + 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
