Abbasi shaheed hospital: Governor demands facilities’ upgrade

The governor said with the establishment of a board, the hospital would be managed properly

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has ordered the constitution of a detailed working paper for the establishment of a board comprising medical experts and philanthropists to ensure provision of better healthcare facilities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). Khan visited the hospital along with Karachi commissioner Asif Hyder Shah and municipal commissioner of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Samiuddin Siddiqui. The governor said with the establishment of a board, the hospital would be managed properly. “Every healthcare institution should always prioritise the welfare of patients in every matter, and it should be the same at ASH,” he said. Khan nominated principal secretary Muhammad Hussain Syed, Siddiqui and the senior director of medical services to compile data on existing facilities and the resources required to improve the hospital’s functioning.
