Mother tongue: Asfandyar urges Pukhtuns to speak Pashto
Asfandyar also paid rich tribute Bengalis who lost their lives struggling for the national language

Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan urged Pukhtuns to speak and write in Pashto language to promote it. In his written message for the occasion of International Mother Language Day on February 21 (today), Asfandyar said educationists agreed that schoolchildren must be taught in their mother tongue. According to a copy of the statement available with The Express Tribune, the ANP chief stressed elementary education must be in a student’s mother tongue. Asfandyar also paid rich tribute Bengalis who lost their lives struggling for the national language.
