Three police personnel shot dead in Faisalabad

A police team was patrolling in Merawala Bangla area when it got attacked by unidentified armed men

FAISLABAD: Three police personnel, including an ASI were shot dead near Merawala Bangla area of Faisalabad on Friday.

Inspector Amir Waheed, a spokesperson of the CPO said a police team was patrolling in the area when it got attacked by unidentified armed men.



As a result, Sub Inspector Muhammad Imran, Constable Rafqat Ali and driver Muhammad Ishaq were critically injured, who later succumbed to their injures.

The attackers escaped the scene while investigation is underway. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, bodies of the deceased were shifted to a mortuary.
