Week-on-week: SPI falls 0.25%
Prices of 8 items rose and rates of remaining 26 goods recorded no change

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended February 18 registered a fall of 0.25% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the group stood at 206.90 points against 207.42 in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group fell 0.22% from 215.98 points in the previous week to 215.50 in the week under review. Compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for the combined income group rose 4.18%. During the week, average prices of 19 items fell in a selected basket of goods, prices of 8 items rose and rates of remaining 26 goods recorded no change.
