Malir Express Way plans underway
DHA Governing Body has collaborated with the CDGK for construction of the Malir Express way.

The Governing Body was informed by the Chairman Secretary Defence, Lt. Gen (R) Syed Athar Ali on Monday that efforts were being made to initiate planning and construction work on Malir Express Way which would link DHA City to central city and industrial area of the metropolis.
He stated that this would provide fast and shortest possible routes from these areas to the Super Highway and will also reduce heavy traffic movement from internal roads of Karachi. The Express Way is already part of Karachi Mass Transit Plan 2030.
The annual meeting of DHA Governing Body chaired by its chairman Secretary Defence, Lt. Gen (R) Syed Athar Ali was held at Headquarters 5 Corps. Commander 5 Corps Lt. Gen Zahir-ul-Islam was also present on the occasion.
Secretary Defence asked DHA to tackle the challenging problems of traffic, cleanliness, security and other issues in Defence with professional acumen to provide a vibrant and dynamic living environment for its residents. He asked DHA to ensure proactive interactions with residents’ associations and to take them on board while undertaking any major development work.
The Chairman remarked that jointly the sponsorship by DHA & CDGK of this project will make it an astounding success.
The Governing Board gave approval of DHA fiscal Budget 2010-11 of the amount of Rs. 7.69 billion with Rs. 4.66 billion (60%) earmarked for development projects with focus on speedy completion of infrastructure development of Ph-VIII (Sector C & E-8) along with completion the other ongoing development works.
