PM approves major reshuffle in federal govt posts

Postings have been approved during premier's meeting with officials at PM House; notifications are yet to be issued

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved a major reshuffle in the positions of federal government officials.

“Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Syed Imran Gardezi has been appointed as federal secretary information and broadcasting,” sources told The Express Tribune on Friday.

The sources also revealed that Dr Shujaat has been appointed as special secretary finance; Khalid Masood, secretary communication; Pir Baksh Jamali, secretary ombudsman; Abu Akif, secretary climate change; Abid Javed, secretary food security; Shoaib Siddiqui, special secretary interior; Hassan Iqbal, secretary capital administration and development division; Humayun Khan, secretary federal education; and Abdul Jabbar as secretary National Assembly.

The appointments were approved by the premier during his meeting with the said government officials at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad. However, an official notification is expected to be issued.

All those government officials who met the prime minister were grade 22 officers as another bunch of officials will soon meet with the premier before their respective postings.
