Italy is the vainest country in the world with citizens spending the most time on personal grooming, according to new data from market research company GfK.

The study carried out by GfK interviewed 27,000 people in 22 countries to find out which countries in the world spend the most time on personal grooming.
Here are the 10 vainest countries in the world:
1) Italy
The results found Italian women on top of the list, along with American and French women, spending an average of 6.2 hours a week on how they look. However, since Italian men also spent the most time on themselves -- up to 5.0 hours a week, Italy’s score of 5.6 is the highest. Italy was also the country with the least time disparity between genders.
2) Argentina
On second place is Argentina with its women spending 5.9 hours per week on personal grooming, while men are reported to spend 4.6 hours.
3) United States
The United States was pushed to the third spot, despite its high score for women because of its men who tend to spend just 4.3 hours per week on themselves.

4) France
France has the same score for men and women as the United States, but its total of 5.2 lands it on the fourth spot.
5) Czech Republic
The fifth spot on the list is taken by Czech Republic with a total score of 5.1 that includes men spending 1.5 hours less than Czech women’s score of 5.8.
6) Germany
Germans are found to spend 5.1 hours on themselves in total. Its women’s score totals to 5.8 hours, while men score 4.4.
7) Spain
Spain takes the sixth spot with a score totaling to 5.0. Again, women spend more time than men.
8) Hong Kong
The total score for Hong Kong stands at 4.9. Men spend 4.1 hours on personal grooming in Hong Kong, while women spend 5.7.
9) Poland
Poles are on number 9 with Polish women spending 5.7 hours per week on them, compared to men who spend 3.9.

10) United Kingdom
The UK came in at number 10, with men spending an average of 3.7 hours a week on personal grooming, and women 5.4 hours.
