According to PML-N officials, the premier has been visiting the rest house since the 1980s, first vacationing there when he was sports adviser to the then Punjab governor Major General Ghulam Jilani.

On Wednesday evening, PM enjoyed dinner with locals in the open skies of the Cholistan desert. This time around, PM Nawaz avoided hunting in Cholistan desert.

On previous trips, he has been accompanied by political leaders, friends and Arab princes in the sport for deer.

“What Nawaz Sharif most liked in the current trip – fresh milk," a source, who accompanied the PM on the trip, said. Fresh grass grows in February and March giving a peculiar taste to milk, which only a true milk connoisseur can value, he said, adding PM Nawaz enjoyed a variety of cow, buffalo and goat milk.

Meanwhile, the official statement of the PM House said that the premier was briefed about wildlife and forest issues during his visit to Lal Suhanra National Park.

Secretary Forests and other senior officials briefed PM Nawaz about wildlife conservation, afforestation and revival of Patisar Lake. Officials said that indigenous trees like Indian rosewood and Acacia karroo will be planted over 1,212 acres of barren land in the wildlife reserve.
