The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested on Thursday an Indian citizen accused of using fraudulent means to acquire Pakistani nationality.
Rustam Sadhua was apprehended under the Foreign Act after his application for pre-arrest bail was rejected by a court, an FIA statement said.
Sadhua is the brother-in-law of MNA Asfandyar Bhandara, who arrived in the country in 1982, later obtaining the identity card, added the statement.

Bhandara, when contacted, rather expressed satisfaction at Sadhua’s arrest, saying he had himself complained against the accused.
The MNA said he had publicly disassociated himself from Sadhua, warning about maintaining any sort of contact with him.
Bhandara hoped the arrest will help reveal more acts of fraud Sadhua may have been involved in.
An intelligence report in December last year suggested that at least two Indian families acquired Pakistani citizenship through corruption, and by outsmarting officials at the registration authority.
