"Students have not been evacuated and classes and labs are being held as per schedule," he added.

Earlier, sections of the media reported that a bomb was placed at Islami Jamiat Talaba's book fair being held on campus.

Last month, KU was forced to postpone its convocation for want of adequate security arrangements for the event. The decision was taken following a meeting where security conditions at the campus were discussed following the recent attack at Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.

Universities across the country are on high-alert following last month's attack at Bacha Khan University in Charsadda.

Taliban terrorists stormed the university on January 20, killing at least 21 people, mostly students. BKU reopened on February 15, 26 days after the attack.

BKU Public Relations Officer Saeed Khan Khalil said the varsity reopened after security clearance from the police in Charsadda. He added local police along with women commandos have been deployed.
