Armed gang loots jewellery market at dawn
Eight suspects overpower lone watchman, make off with gold, silver, cash, safes worth millions

Unknown armed assailants carried out a major robbery at K Area Market in Korangi after overpowering the lone night watchman at gunpoint and breaking into several jewellery shops, making off with gold and silver ornaments worth millions of rupees, along with cash and safes.
The incident occurred early Monday morning in the jurisdiction of Awami Colony police station. The suspects held the watchman hostage after Fajr prayers and forcibly opened the locks of multiple jewellery shops. The looted items included gold and silver jewellery, cash, and safes kept inside some of the shops.
Upon receiving information about the robbery, shopkeepers rushed to the market and immediately informed the police. Law enforcement officials reached the scene and summoned the Crime Scene Unit to collect evidence. The robbery was carried out at Abdul Razzaq Jewellers, Rahim Dad Khan Jewellers, Maqsood Ali Jewellers, and Aftab Jewellers. Witnesses said the suspects, numbering around eight, arrived on two motorcycles and a Hi-Roof vehicle.
Shopkeepers stated that a few months ago, the market's security guard had passed away and was not replaced, leaving the entire market under the supervision of a single watchman, who was easily overpowered by the armed suspects.
