Price Manipulation: Pharma head arrested from court
NAB officials assert that accused director, in connivance with certain officials from the drug regulatory authority
ISLAMABAD:
The managing director of a pharmaceutical company was arrested from the premises of the Islamabad High Court, following the dismissal of his pre-arrest bail on Tuesday. A division bench comprising of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani dismissed bail of RG Pharmaceuticals Managing Director Mian Khalid Mahmood. Following the dismissal, officers from the National Accountability Bureau arrested Mahmood from the court building. The NAB officials assert that accused director, in connivance with certain officials from the drug regulatory authority, increased the prices of certain medicines in 2012.
