Managing protesters: PIA appreciates police performance during strike
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has appreciated the role of Rawalpindi police during the recent employees strike against the proposed privatisation of national flag carrier.
The airlines has sent letters of appreciation to Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja and other police officers for providing security to Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) and PIA offices, and for keeping the protesting employees 200 metres away from airport gate.
The letters have been dispatched by PIA General Manager Security and Vigilance (north) Major (retd) Nadeem Arif Chaudhry. Sources say the letter addressed to the RPO said the police did a good job to maintain law and order and to secure PIA installations.
It said the police successfully kept the protester at least 200 metres from the main BBIA gate.
