Fixing Responsibility: Committee to probe Saqiba’s suicide

CM Zehri has suspended the college principal Abida Ghous and a clerk of the education department

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri has formed a committee to investigate the reasons that led to the eventual death of a student. Saquiba Kakar, a student of Intermediate at Government Girls College of Muslim Bagh town of Killa Saifullah district, ended her life, allegedly, after her principal refused to send her forms to Balochistan Board for the upcoming examinations. In a statement issued on Monday, the chief minister said the committee would determine those responsible for the incident and present its report in three to four days. He said the provincial government will take strict action against those responsible for the incident. CM Zehri has already suspended the college principal Abida Ghous and a clerk of the education department. Meanwhile, provincial minister Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal and Secretary Education Abdul Saboor Kakar visited Muslim Bagh on Monday and met the family of the deceased student. They assured the family that the responsible elements would be brought to justice.
