ISLAMABAD:
After a passage of seven years, the top court has discharged contempt notice against ex-interior minister Rehman Malik for allegedly transferring director general of FIA during the investigation of Pakistan Steel Mills corruption case.
Agreeing with the arguments of the counsel, the bench discharged contempt notice against Rehman Malik. Talking to media men, Rehman Malik claimed that he had been targeted intentionally but today he got the justice.

Former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry had issued contempt notice to Rehman Malik for transferring FIA DG Tariq Khosa in December 2009.
Rehman Malik twice had tendered apologies, which were turned down during Chaudhry’s era.
Advocate Sardar Latif Khosa, representing the PPP senator, argued that his client had no power to transfer the DG FIA, adding transferring or promoting a grade 21 officer is the authority of the prime minister.
Agreeing with the arguments of the counsel, the bench discharged contempt notice against Rehman Malik. Talking to media men, Rehman Malik claimed that he had been targeted intentionally but today he got the justice.
