The classes of 2012 and 2013 got their degrees at the convocation
BAHAWALPUR:
The ninth convocation of Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held at the Baghdadul Jadeed Campus on Monday. Minister of State of Education and Interior Affairs Mian Muhammad Baligur Rehman was the chief guest and Minister of Education, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan was the guest of honour. IUB Vice Chancellor Qaiser Mushtaq thanked the government for its support in initiating various development programmes and scholarship programmes at the IUB. He highlighted the university’s various academic achievements and development plans. Only a few of the gold medallists of the class of 2013 could not get their gold medals as the varsity’s administration admitted on Sunday evening that they had been unable to get the medals made. Some of the high achievers protested against this but were told that they would be given their medals as soon as possible. The classes of 2012 and 2013 got their degrees at the convocation. A total 2,688 graduates, including seven PhD, 90 MPhil, 186 gold medallists and 148 silver medal holders walked the stage and received their degrees.
