Fire engulfed the stage of ‘Make in India Week’ event in Mumbai on Sunday.
According to NDTV, a cultural programme was being held in the Indian city when the fire broke out.
The 'Maharashtra Night' is the flagship event of the Maharashtra government and a number of politicians and Bollywood actors, including Amitabh Bachan and Aamir Khan were in attendance.
While the firefighters were struggling to extinguish the fire, no loss of life was reported.
"The event was underway when fire broke out, we ran to save our lives,” said an eyewitness.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Make in India Week on Saturday as a showcase event for the government's flagship manufacturing scheme.
