Modi trolled for wishing Afghan president three months in advance

Ashraf Ghani takes to Twitter to correct India's premier who had wished him happy birthday on the wrong day

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been left red faced after he wished Afghan President Ashraf Ghani a happy birthday a full three months in advance.

"Praying for your long life and exceptional health and a joyful journey ahead," Modi tweeted to the Afghan president on February 12.

To this, Ghani politely replied that his birthday was in fact on May 19:

Modi may not be entirely at fault as Ghani's profile on Google lists his birthday as being on February 12. It has since been edited.

The mistake did not go unnoticed, of course.


























One Twitter user in India even replied to Ghani saying, "We don't care when you b'day is , if our honourable PM has wished you today, we will celebrate it today."
