Cybercrime: Man blackmailing woman arrested
The police also recovered the video after taking the laptop of the accused into custody

The Rangers’ special task team and the police arrested a suspected criminal, Asad, from North Karachi on Saturday. He was accused of blackmailing a woman through a video.
According to North Karachi SHO Umar Bajwa, the complainant said that she had cable internet installed at her house recently. The following day, she was online with her husband who lives in Saudi Arabia and they were having a video chat in which they became intimate.
The next day, the recording of her video chat with her husband was sent to her on her Facebook with a demand for extortion. The video threatened that her video will be uploaded online if she fails to pay, said the officer.
The complainant paid Rs20,000 to the suspect but then he demanded an additional Rs20,000.
Following investigations, the extortionist’s photo was shown to the complainant, and she recognised him as the cable internet guy who had visited her home.
