Green energy: Parliament goes solar
China has provided the solar power plant which will now supply electricity to the building

Pakistan’s parliament went solar on Friday, joining a club of legislative houses around the world which utilise only green energy. The project to switch over the parliament building to solar energy was inaugurated in April last year by PM Nawaz Sharif and China’s President Xi Jinping. China has provided the solar power plant which will now supply electricity to the building. Announcing the switchover to solar energy, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said the project had been materialised with the help of parliamentarians, media and employees of the parliament house.
