FUND Shortage: AGPR delays disbursements
Most were nearing completion, but due to the shortage of funds, Pak-PWD was unable to meet deadlines
ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak-PWD) could not complete 15 important projects in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to delay in disbursement of funds from Accountant General of Pakistan Revenues.
According to documents, 12 projects were in the Islamabad which include improvement and renovation of Supreme Court building, extension of IB Academy, five prevention and fire fighting arrangement at the Prime Minister’s House and others.
Pak-PWD Chief Engineer Planning Safdar Ali said the department could not get funds on time as per approved phasing of the PC-1.

Three projects were in Rawalpindi District which comprised of development schemes in 33 UCs of Gujjar Khan, enhancement of security arrangement of survey of Murree and Rawalpindi.
