Landmark visit: Palestine cleric to lead Friday prayer

The first visit was paid by the first Palestinian Grand Mufti al Husseini to Lahore in 1938

Grand Mufti of Palestine, Masjid-e-Aqsa, Muhammad Husein, will lead the Friday prayer at the Grand Jamia Masjid, Bahria Town, Lahore, on Friday. A large number of people are expected to offer their Friday prayers at the mosque tomorrow. It is the second visit of any Palestinian mufti to the city in the last 76 years; the first visit was paid by the first Palestinian Grand Mufti al Husseini to Lahore in 1938 where he had met Quad-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other Pakistan Movement leaders. Last Year Imam-e-Kabba, Masjid al Haram Sheikh Khalid Al Ghamdi, who also led the Friday prayer, which was attended by a sizeable number of people.
