Cholistan desert: Ten more mobile schools this year, says minister
The minister said the mobile schools project would benefit hundreds of children living in the desert area

This year, the government is going to launch 10 more mobile schools for children in Cholistan desert, Federal Minister for Education Baligur Rehman said on Thursday. He was addressing a ceremony at the Al Sadiq Desert Welfare Organisation’s office. The minister said the mobile schools project would benefit hundreds of children living in the desert area. Programme Coordinator Rana Aamir Shahzad said the Al Sadiq Desert Welfare Organisation had distributed sports equipment, transport services and art materials to 32 schools in Derawar, Merana and Channan Pir union councils. He said the organisation was trying to improve the standard of education imparted to children and to raise the schools’ enrolment capacity. “More than 3,000 children will benefit from our intervention.” The organisation has given funds for building boundary walls at five schools, he said.
