Gilani pledges efforts for economic stability

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said the government would make efforts to bring economic stability through optimum utilisation of available resources on Sunday.

The prime minister was talking to Hafeez Sheikh, Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House on Sunday evening. Gilani said the government’s efforts are focused in preparing a ‘pro-poor budget’ in order to ease the economic difficulties of the common man.

He said it would also attempt to ensure sustainable growth in the agricultural and industrial sectors.

Earlier, Sheikh briefed the Prime Minister on recent meetings with the IMF officials during his visit to the United States.
